Frequently asked questions
How much wet food does an adult cat need per day?
The recommended amount is 3.7-7% of body weight per day for our CLASSIC Adult line, depending on age, activity, and metabolism. A 4 kg cat therefore needs approx. 120-200 g of wet food per day. The feeding recommendation is a guideline – also observe whether your cat is maintaining a healthy weight.
How often should you feed wet food to a cat?
Most adult cats do well with 2–3 meals a day. If your cat gets hungry more quickly or prefers small portions, you can also divide the daily amount into several smaller meals. The total amount over the course of the day is what matters.
What should I do if my cat asks for more food?
Many cats have a strong appetite. First, check whether you are sticking to the daily amount specified in the feeding recommendation . If your cat is active or losing weight, a value closer to 4–5% of its body weight may be appropriate. Reduce accordingly if your cat gains weight quickly.
How can I tell if my cat is eating too little or too much?
A good guideline is your cat's physical condition. The rib cage should be palpable but not visible. A slim waist is also a sign of a healthy weight. If you are unsure, regular weighing can help—especially for indoor cats.
Should I adjust my cat's food intake based on its age?
Yes. Young, active adult cats often need closer to 5% of their body weight, while senior cats tend to need 3–4%. Monitor activity, weight development, and appetite. Cats' needs change over the course of their lives.
